Let a Child Create
One of the projects I dream of doing is reaching as many schools world-wide, and getting the children to write a peom, or a prose, or draw or paint the way they would love the world to be. (Or create a forum for them to ask their questions.) I really believe that they have, in many cases, a less clouded vision, because they are not yet quite so indoctrinated into what is and what is not possible... Their minds, and their creativity and imagination are often easier for them to access and flow freely from. I also think that in many places that is not encouraged enough. I would love to place myself in a postition where I can learn from a child rather than attempt to teach it something... And kids are often incredibly in tune with the world around them. They are also very clever, and they learn pretty early on what is and what is not acceptable to say. And it is through that amazing ability that they soon can "lose their way"... and become all rational and "grown-up" (and other things in some cases, but that is another, rather sadder, story)...
Be that as it may, if any of you have any input on this project, or "just" some support in the written form, it would be most appreciated. I would love this to become the most global "Let a child create"-project to date. It is today Sept. 9, and I haven't started on it yet. I would love to hear from you!
