A grain of sand...

Do you remember the The Neverending Story? The "Nothing" eats Fantasia... And in the end, in total darkness, Sebastian stands alone, holding in the palm of his hand but one grain of sand - a tiny, shiny grain of sand - all that was left of that world... - a tiny, shiny grain of "total potentiality" - enough, to create uncountable new worlds from...

He is baffled at first... He cannot comprehend that it should be HE... That the job, the honour, the responsibility, the pleasure of the task should fall to an ordinary little child like himself...

Maybe you are not that child... Maybe you are that child... Maybe you, too, long for change, long for all those dreams that you have, or that you once had and that lie now, seemingly forgotten... In your own personal world, or in this world that we all share... Maybe you, too, watch the evening news with horror... Maybe not even any longer thinking with resignation: 'What can I do? What can one alone do?' - Nobody can blame anyone for that resignation, but I offer one more tiny window of possibility for you! For me, for every single person out there! And I believe that every single person counts, and every single thought can make a difference... (For those arguing the cause of "action" - this is not speaking against taking action, this is merely a forum to gather the force of collective vision.)

Me, I am that child! I am also that grain of sand, and every single dream in that boys hand!!!

I believe we all are!

In this blog, I would like to invite you to share your/my vision of this world with the world... I believe in the good of humanity as a whole, and in the good in every single person in particular. I believe, that whatever our actions, and whatever our reasons for them, at the end of the day we actually all want the same things: To live our lives in a way that befits us, to have all we need to express ourselves creatively, to know ourselves and those we love safe from harm and danger, food, shelter, peace and joy. And I believe all of those are found in abundance on this earth!

There is much to be said for taking action and moving and shaking things out there... This platform, however, serves a more subtle power, the power of the imagination.

Thought preceeds action - Intent preceeds thought.

I would like to collect as many dreams and/or visions of this world from as many people as I can possibly reach. This includes you!

I would like to call on you to follow your dreams... Follow them in any which way you see fit to do... Nobody's watching! But as for this site, take the bait, take the virtual pen and paper, take a minute or a lifetime, and write what you would have this earth, this world, this life, be for all of us! And if you have children, or grandchildren, or think of having children one day, or if you like children, or animals, or plants for that matter, take a moment and ask yourself what that tomorrow would look like if you could bequeath one to them!

It is the easy route to only criticise and point out all that is wrong! It is much more challenging to engage our minds in creating positive visions for a world that might be in rather desperate need of them. So I might see a world in which fear dominates much of our lives, but I can believe in a world where love rules supreme. (Please do not limit yourself to that which you can conceive as really happening! The point is to stretch the imagination beyond its every day confines... Utopia is most welcome here!!!) I encourage you to join me for a moment, because there is a power in us that is greater than great, and we can use it to pull on one string... in one direction... for the good of all!

A word on "positive wording" - let us be mindful of that! It might seem the same thing to say "I envision a world in which people channel their anger in some constructive form" compared to "I wish people would stop hurting each other by lashing out in anger" - Say a thing the way you would like it to be, rather than the way you would not like it to be any longer. We cannot create "away" something. The energy flows toward the image you hold in mind - the "not" in the "not so" image is not understood and the "so" part in it is energized. So we need to be clear in our visions about the "so" being precise and telling of what we wish to see.

I would like to hear/read your voice. A chorus or an orchestra is not just one voice or one instrument alone... Let us raise the voice of our visions, and may they be the wind beneath the wings of our actions!

Please "comment" anything you can think of, about how you imagine this world to be.* How it can be, and remain, a home to all of us! You can write what you would like to do yourself, even if you do not go out and do it... Use this like a vision board. No names need be added. Tell us of projects that you could envision, and maybe someone else will be inspired and go ahead and do just that! Whether you write one word, one line or several paragraphs, anything is welcome. If it has been written already, write it again! If you write the same thing every day, do so! Anything goes here! We are painting a picture of how we want this world to be!
